About Parkwood Heights Elementary

At Parkwood Heights Elementary, we currently have 305 students enrolled, and every one of them contributes to our vibrant school spirit. Our students are proud to be Parkwood Owls, fully embracing the values of our school. They actively participate in a wide variety of activities, ranging from crocheting and arts and crafts to sports and beyond. Known for their natural kindness, our students work together as peacemakers, resolving challenges and supporting one another. With a focus on positive collaboration, they build strong relationships with the adults in our school, fostering an environment where respect and inclusion thrive.

The staff at Parkwood Heights Elementary are passionate about creating engaging, enriching experiences for our students. Whether celebrating holidays through games and traditions or supporting wellness initiatives, we ensure every student feels valued, supported, and happy. Our school operates like a family, and that family-like atmosphere is something we are incredibly proud of. Guests to Parkwood often comment on how warm and welcoming the environment is, noting the strong sense of community that is evident when entering our halls.

What truly sets Parkwood apart are the unique experiences we provide for our students. We are fortunate to be located next to the beautiful NB Trails, offering our teachers and students the opportunity to explore nature while incorporating science lessons on various habitats. Our commitment to wellness is also a cornerstone of our school. Our students enjoy the “Zen Den,” a peaceful space with soft lighting, quiet music, and a cozy tent where they can unwind and relax. Our staff also has access to a wellness room called “The Suite Retreat,” equipped with a treadmill, puzzles, comfortable seating, and refreshments, providing them with a rejuvenating space to recharge.

This year, Parkwood has embraced the Positive Behaviour Intervention Supports (PBIS) program, focusing on proactive strategies to encourage positive behavior and ensure that our students understand clear expectations. As we continue to foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and wellness, we are excited about the growth of our school community.
